Alison Couchman
Textile artist
Alison is an Art teacher and trains other teachers in Art all over the UK. Alisons work is mainly mixed media, combining fabric and paper, with a strong emphasis on the textural qualities of different surfaces.
Alison also enjoys working in 3D and enjoys creating sculpted heads and figures with dry needle felting. She also uses the embellisher machine to develop textured pieces for use as wall hangings and abstract 3D forms.
Alison has recently been introduced to free-machine embroidery and is exploring the development of rich and lustrous surfaces.
She is a member of the Embroiderers' Guild, and the Surface Design Association.
