My work is about whatever captures my interest. This may sound like a pick and mix approach, but this is only true to a point, as the themes that have interested me have remained surprisingly constant for much of my life.
Perhaps this is true of everybody.
I am inspired by the beauty to be seen almost everywhere, every day; stories and poems, history and legends.
I enjoy the work of English painters: Samuel Palmer, Paul Nash, David Jones and especially John Piper. I savour the impressions created by poetry.
