Colour is a constant source of inspiration for Christine.
Her textile wall hangings exploit the interaction of colours, using a variety of commercially printed fabrics and her own hand-dyed and printed material, sometimes incorporating found objects of both man-made and natural origin.
She is actively exploring hand stitching techniques and enjoys the intimacy to the piece that this brings during the creative process.
Christine produces hand made felt that is richly textured, with fabrics and threads worked into the wool fibres to produce bubbly, ruched effects. She then adds embellishment by hand according to the needs of each piece.
Christine holds City & Guilds part 1 in Patchwork and Quilting, is a member of the Quilters' Guild of the British Isles; and has twice won first prizes in national exhibitions with her wall hangings.
