Judith trained as a teacher. Further qualifications include City and Guilds Embroidery and a post-graduate diploma in art education (textiles). Experimenting with the manipulation of fibres introduced her to papermaking. The recycling ethic is very much part of her philosophy and Judith uses both natural materials (nettles, reed, straw, cotton, etc.) and recycled junk-mail pulps to portray, in largely abstract form, the Suffolk sea and landscape. Her methods have been documented and illustrated in "Artists Colour Manual" by Simon Jennings; published by Collins (2003). Judith exhibits locally and nationally and is a member of Suffolk Open Studios and Textile Art Group Suffolk Judith Chestnutt Annesley, Great Bealings, Suffolk. IP13 6PQ 01473 735343 |
