![]() | One or Two Days Free your cutting and piecing to make curves and unstructured blocks. You should be used to using a rotary cutter and familiar with your sewing machine. We will make a free-cut small quilt using different techniques, and if there is time we will start to quilt the result. The two-day class can cover unstructured blocks too... This class links to Free-motion Quilting, and the two can be combined for a two day session. Fabrics:- Bring the following:- At least 8 fabrics in a colour selection that you really like. Do have some contrast. Bright prints and solids, stripes, spots, and big prints are all suitable. Bring some plain or hand-dyed, too. Bring some offcuts of other fabrics. Fabrics should be 100% cotton and should NOT be prewashed, or should be starched lightly to restore texture if they have been. Good quality fabric is essential for good results. Thread:- 100% cotton thread in a neutral colour to go with your fabrics. Sewing tools:- the usual pins, scissors, etc. Rotary cutter and mat (bring your big mat) You should be comfortable with your rotary cutter - if you are not you must do a preliminary session with me first.. Please make sure that you bring the manual, put in a fresh needle, and wind a bobbin before you come.
