Free-form Piecing Class - Supply List

SummerOne or Two Days

Free your cutting and piecing to make curves and unstructured blocks. You should be used to using a rotary cutter and familiar with your sewing machine. We will make a free-cut small quilt using different techniques, and if there is time we will start to quilt the result.
The two-day class can cover unstructured blocks too...

This class links to Free-motion Quilting, and the two can be combined for a two day session.

Fabrics:-
Bring the following:-
At least 8 fabrics in a colour selection that you really like.
Do have some contrast. Bright prints and solids, stripes, spots, and big prints are all suitable. Bring some plain or hand-dyed, too.
Bring some offcuts of other fabrics.

Fabrics should be 100% cotton and should NOT be prewashed, or should be starched lightly to restore texture if they have been. Good quality fabric is essential for good results.

Thread:- 100% cotton thread in a neutral colour to go with your fabrics.

Sewing tools:- the usual pins, scissors, etc.
Rotary cutter and mat (bring your big mat)
You should be comfortable with your rotary cutter - if you are not you must do a preliminary session with me first.. Please Email me to discuss this
Sewing machine:- Nothing fancy, all you need is straight stitch and a standard foot. Please make sure that you bring the manual, put in a fresh needle, and wind a bobbin before you come.

If you have any problems with, or don't understand, any of the above, please contact me well in advance of the class.

One day, £25.00 per person;
Two days, £45.00 per person.
