Moon Panel Class - Supply List
You will need:-
1/2 metre of a dark coloured solid fabric for the side panels
1/2 metre for the back (can be the same fabric as above)
One long quarter of a toning fabric for binding and zingers. (You can use 2 fabrics if you like).
A piece of batting the width of your fabric by 1/2 metre. I prefer cotton battings, but the thinner polyesters are OK. Very thick poly batting is not suitable. You can also use pre-washed flannel.

Please cut the following:-
8 pieces 7 inches by 4 inches, in 8 toning colours. Try to have a few plain and one or two patterned pieces, but keep the patterns fairly blended for colour. Choose a colour scheme for your quilt (reds, or blues, or greens, say) and work within it.
One piece 7 inches by 9 inches, in a darkish colour.
Please use 100% cotton fabrics.
If required, I can provide a fabric kit for this quilt (see below). This covers all the fabrics for the front of the quilt, and will be pre-cut for you. Please discuss colours with me by phone. You will still have to bring the batting and backing.
You will also need some scraps in toning and contrasting colors, and a piece of silver or white fabric for the moon.
Fine cotton thread in a neutral colour for piecing.
Decorative thread for quilting. I use a lot of variegated threads as they are easy and very effective. Cotton thread is much easier to work with.
Sewing machine, with manual and regular and darning feet. If you have a walking foot please bring it, but this is not essential. Make sure you have a new needle and have wound a bobbin with your piecing thread.
Ordinary sewing supplies, pins, needles, scissors, cutter and mat.
Pen/ pencil and notebook.
